We are seeking a Civil Engineer Technologist EIT to support the planning, design, and delivery of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. This is a key role in site assessment, infrastructure design, and construction support. The role involves working with several departments to deliver sustainable energy solutions while ensuring compliance with technical, environmental, and safety standards.

Reporting to the Vice President of Construction and Operations, the Civil Engineer Technologist EIT is a vital member of our project team. This role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office at our Halifax, Nova Scotia headquarters.

What you Will be Doing

Assist in the development of project layouts.

Assist with site assessments and collecting survey data.

Assist with topographic assessments for project siting and infrastructure planning.

Assist with collecting and processing survey data to support project design.

Develop preliminary layout designs to support project siting.

Prepare 30% Civil design packages for pad site layout(s) & access roads which meet the WTG OEM requirements.

Prepare 30% drainage plans and other site infrastructure layouts.

Prepare cut / fill calculations for all 30% plans.

Collaborate with project managers on scheduling, budgeting, and quality / volume control.

Assist with the coordination of contractors, consultants, and permitting authorities during design and construction.

Assist with geotechnical assessment works for the projects.

Assist with site inspections.

Assist with the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) submission packages.

Assist with cost–benefit and risk analyses related to civil and environmental design choices.

Participate in stakeholder meetings, engineering reviews, and client presentations.

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in civil engineering from a recognized university/college.

Proficiency in engineering design tools - AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MS Office Suite.

Knowledge of civil work design (roads, foundations, drainage, site preparation)

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.

Eligible to work in Canada; valid driver’s license required.
